6 Easy Steps explaining the process of securing your property

  1. 1. Contact us to arrange a viewing

The first step is to get in touch with us by calling or filling out the contact form stating the property/properties you are interested in. One of the First Living team members will be able to arrange a viewing for you and book an appointment for you to view the property.

  2. 2. Viewing your property

On the day of your viewing you will go to the First Living office where you will meet a member of the team and they will take you to view the property. Make sure you take plenty of pictures and ask lots of questions on your viewing as this will be the best opportunity to go through anything you want to know or are unsure of about the property.

  3. 3. Securing your property

Once you have chosen the property that is right for you and your group you will need to pay a deposit to secure the property and to prevent any more viewings taking place at the property. Once you have paid the deposit the property will be yours. The deposit is secured with the Deposit Protection Scheme and is fully refundable at the end of your tenancy less the cost of any damages beyond fair wear and tear and any cleaning needed in the property.

  4. 4. Signing your contract

After you and your group have paid the deposit you will all need to come to the First Living office to sign your contract. If you are in a group you will be signing a joint contract and if you are an individual you will be signing a single person contract. When coming to sign your contract make sure you have all the relevant information with you such as home address, student ID etc. This is also a great opportunity to go through any other questions you may have when signing the contract. Once you have signed your contract the next step is waiting to move into your new property.

  5. 5. Moving into your property

Once you know when you would like to move into your property you will need to get in touch with us to arrange a move in day and time. These appointments get booked up really quickly so make sure you let us know as soon as possible when you would like to move into the property to avoid disappointment.

  6. 6. Move In Day

On the day you are moving into the property a First Living team member will meet you at the property where they will go through the basic things you need to know about the property. You will receive your keys and an Information Booklet where you will have everything you need to know about the property from how to use the appliances to property inspections. You will also receive an inventory for your property that will need to be completed and retuned to the First Living office with 7 days.

Now you can enjoy your new home...
